Self service so no assistance when assigned equipment isn’t there.

I’m a PE Coach at Wildwood Secondary, and I took my class on a field trip to Lake Bryan, which we rented from PaddleEZ! They all had a blast! We rented six kayaks and two paddleboards. The equipment was in great shape, plenty of PFDs to go around, and getting into the lockers was a very easy process. While reserving the equipment, I had some trouble with the website. I contacted support, who then got me in touch with the owner. Josh was SO helpful. He made sure everything was correct and even followed up with me after our time on the lake. He’s a great guy who takes his business very seriously and just wants you to have a great, successful adventure! I will definitely be bringing the kids back for another field trip!💙

Kayaks are dirty, cracked, and faded. Customer service was extremely rude, their website does NOT work well. Gave us a bug and forced us to rent at 4:00pm instead of 2:00pm, when we told customer service about the issues and asked if we could have our times corrected they told us “No, the site provides the most accurate availability, you'll rent for the time you'll be using the equipment.” We informed customer service that not a single kayak has been out on the lake all day. No response. Waste of $60.00. Not to mention, there’s no phone number to call! If you call the number listed it leads you to a voicemail where they tell you to TEXT them!? No human interaction and i’m sitting here waiting on a response from them, asking them to call me; nothing.

*Updated Review* 04/28/25: After posting this review, the owner contact me directly to offer his apologies and a refund. Josh was very polite and professional. He understood my frustration and wanted to ensure I received a refund. I updated my review based on Josh's prompt, polite, and professional interaction. The funds have been refunded. Previous Review 04/25/25: We visited Lake Livingston 03/08/25 to rent a kayak but we were unable to open the locker no matter how many times we tried the code. We were still charged. I contacted my bank and they would not file a claim and said I had to contact the vendor. I have called multiple times and no answer. I have left a voicemail. I have left an email request through their website. I have texted Paddle EZ and have not received a response. This is not the correct way to do business and I cannot believe that they have not reached out to me to give me a refund. I would warn every customer to not rent anything from this business. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

My wife and I have used Paddle EZ a few times for their kayaks and paddle boards! The equipment and boats are in great shape, especially for being in the beating sun all day! The website could use some work, but when you text for assistance, they are prompt at responding and give you 10 extra minutes for the inconvenience. They are also getting a new hub, so I’m sure the locker experience will be a lot better moving forward! We will definitely be utilizing PaddleEZ in the future and always recommend it to everyone!

Worse experience ever and super stressful! I rented a boat here at lake livingston and they assigned me one that isn't even here. Then they moved me to another in which the keypad doesn't even work on. I then checked all the keypads to see which number to suggest and they all do not work except one! I let the support person know which one is working and he still hasn't resolved this issue! Literally not even responding back to me!!! So much for a relaxing day on the water with the kids!!!

Terrible! Made a reservation for a kayak, got there and code wouldn’t work. Waited and tried for 20 minutes, nothing. Texted two different numbers posted on signage, emailed and called and no response. Never got our kayak. Absolutely terrible experience and will ever attempt this again.
